CalmUnity: Transforming Conflict Together 02-10.06.2024, Rettenegg
The Erasmus+ project Calmunity aimed to enhance participants’ communication skills, emotional awareness, and ability to manage conflicts constructively. The project emphasized non-violent communication (NVC), empathy, and cooperation through experiential learning in a multicultural context.
A variety of energizers and team-building activities were implemented to foster group cohesion, trust, and an inclusive atmosphere. Interactive methods such as role plays, simulations, theater exercises, and group discussions enabled participants to explore different conflict scenarios and practice effective communication strategies, particularly the OFNR (Observation, Feeling, Need, Request) model. Reflective activities, including creative expression and group reflection, supported emotional processing and peer learning.
The project successfully equipped participants with practical tools for conflict resolution, improved interpersonal skills, and increased self-awareness. Additionally, it strengthened intercultural understanding and social connections among participants. Overall, CalmUnity contributed positively to personal development, active citizenship, and the promotion of respectful and empathetic communication, aligning with the core objectives of the Erasmus+ programme.
